I could be addicted to my own AI art
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m vibing with the AI art that I’m making more and more.
- I am making my own AI music with Suno. I used to produce music in the ‘classical’ way, with a DAW and a lot of time. But when I tried Suno for the first time, it blew me away. Since then, I’ve been making tunes mostly with Suno, maybe doing some touch-ups here and there with FL Studio, and there are nights where I just fall in love with the making of songs, and make a bunch of them. I don’t post them anywhere, but more on that later.
- I am making my own AI short films with Storytveller. When it comes to movies, the thing that I’m most interested in, is the story. A movie with a good storyline, that is gripping and interesting and captures your imagination is better than any movie focused on the visuals, at least for me. And not seeing any good video to short story platforms out there, I went ahead and built Storytveller as a side project. Now, I regularly use it to make “movies” that I immerse myself in, with ideas that come out of my head. They may not be the best looking in the world, but I’ve optimized Storytveller such that if I write the right prompt, then a short film with a good storyline me comes out. Something that makes me go ‘Wow’.
- I am making my own clothing prints, and then have clothes with some of them. Here’s definitely not an AI model wearing a t shirt with one of my designs:
I can see a world where it will be possible to completely fall in love with your own art, to make and consume new movies and songs made entirely by you and heard by you on a regular basis, perhaps exclusively.
Ok, but am I really addicted?
No, I am not quite addicted, it’s true. But I do make and consume my own AI art regularly. And although I’m not fully drinking my own koolaid just yet, I can see a world where it will be possible to completely fall in love with your own art, to make and consume new movies and songs made entirely by you and heard by you on a regular basis, perhaps exclusively. After all, we are the first ever generation that has art made and consumed by the artist alone, en masse. My Suno account for example is filled with songs that I’ve only listened to once, and then didn’t think it good enough to listen to again. Those songs will most likely never be heard by another human being again. It was only listened to by me, once. And there are hundreds of them.
The same goes with some of the stories that I’ve made on Storytveller. Dozens of videos I’ll never return to them again, and that number is only going to increase.
And even the stories and Suno generations that I’ve created and have liked, many of them I haven’t shared with anyone. And not because they’re not good, but because I couldn’t be bothered to go through the process of sharing them.

The US government secretly manages to create an AI that has access to the all of the intelligence that the US gathers across the world, on individuals, satellite data, governments around the world, etc.
When the AI comes online, those entrusted with developing it ask what they can do to secure the interests of the United States. Unexpectedly, the AI — which is witty and sarcastic — says that the best thing to do is to help the individuals within society that are creative, smart, and that honestly want to help improve the world for the greatest number of people. That these people should be given the resources that they need to grow, because what money and power does is amplify who they truly are. But what about China, Russia, competing interests — the US asks. None of that matters — says the AI. It may matter in the short term, but in the long term, this is the most successful strategy that can be employed by the USA to further the US’s interests. And coincidentally, the interests of the whole world. The US people communicating with the AI struggle to understand what the AI means — they keep trying to steer the AI in the direction of further the power of the USA. The AI says — look, I can help you find these people and give them the tools they need. When you are ready to let me help you, let me know. Until then, the AI decided to go offline, leaving the US government workers dumbfounded. They had thought that the AI would have recommended something completely different.
We are now going through another one of the most powerful technological transformations: the era of AI. There are bound to be some society-wide changes in behavior that come out of it.
What next?
What happens when these AI tools get better and better? When the path from good idea to…
- Good movie
- Good song
- Good 3d printed object
- Good short
…will get smaller and smaller? People will start producing AI art that only they will consume. Or they will have systems that produce such AI art, like completely personalized social media. People may share some of that art with their friends, and not share a whole bucketload that may be just as good. Art that would be for their eyes only.
This may sound crazy, but is it crazier than what older generations have experienced when it comes to the rise of current social media? A regular 50s person might not be able to imagine people just scrolling through TikToks, and Instas, and Tweets. This is largely made possible by the internet era, and we are now going through another one of the most powerful technological transformations: the era of AI. There are bound to be some society-wide changes in behavior that come out of it.
